CSU Information & Policies

Attendance Policy

Attendance Policy

“Attending” class and participating in class discussions is required. You will be expected to participate in ongoing discussions and regularly interact with other students and your instructor. Attending class in an online setting is logging into the course, reviewing the weekly material, and participating in discussions and class activities.

You should check into the course at least two times per week and look at the weekly course content in each module. You will lose two points from the participation grade total if you do not log in during the week. This will not be significant to your final grade. However, it could mean the difference between rounding up to an A from a B.

Class Confidentiality

Student Confidentiality Policy

Students are asked to try to form conceptual links between the course material and their own personal experiences in class discussions because this is an excellent way to learn new material. Students are also asked to participate in discussions that are self-reflective and can be about difficult topics. Therefore, confidentiality must be guaranteed to all students in order to provide a safe learning environment. No student should ever repeat class discussions or allow people outside the class to access our password-protected course website, read printed versions of any student's comments in CougarView, or comments made in the in-person classroom.
