OpenStax Psychology Resources Guide: Emotion & Motivation

By the end of this module, students will be able to:
  1. Compare and describe the relation between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation; apply this to their lives.
  2. Define and discuss motivational terms such as gritdeliberate practice, and flow. Understand how to achieve these.
  3. Understand the impact of self-efficacy and arousal in motivation.
  4. Explain the workings of physiological motives, such as hunger and sex.
  5. Consider various definitions of emotion and emotional intelligence.
  6. Describe how emotions are assessed and what we currently understand about emotional experience.
