Public Service Folio Guide

The following trainings are required for all employees per USG Libraries/Galileo. We have broken up the required training below into sessions that average 1 to 1.5 hours.

*Note: You will not be able to access these videos if you are not logged into EBSCO Connect.  You can pull up a separate page on your browser and log into EBSCO Connect.  Then, you can access these videos below.  

Session 1: 

• FOLIO Users App Overview Video 10:22 minutes
  • External user ID and our Barcode are our 909 numbers
  • Username and Passwords - Your username should be your work email. These are only required for employees and student assistants.
• FOLIO: Creating a User Record (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 minutes)
  • We would do this for friends of the library and in very rare cases where there are errors in the system and an employee or student was not uploaded. But because we have automatic patron loads each night at midnight (woot) you should rarely have to do this. 
• FOLIO: Adding a Note to a User Record (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 minutes)
• Checking Out an Item (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 minutes)
• Resolving Claimed Returned (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 Minutes)
• Marking an Open Loan as Claimed Returned (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 Minutes) 
• Checking In and Backdating Items (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 minutes)
• Renewing an Open Loan on a User Record (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 minutes)
• Paying and Waiving Fees/Fines on a User Record (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 minutes)
• Marking an Open Loan as Claimed Returned (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 minutes)
• Declaring an Item Lost (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 Minutes)
• Changing the Due Date on an Open Loan (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 minutes)
• Filling Page Requests (Self Guided Tour - Approximately 2 minutes)

Practice:

In the first workshop, we will practice creating user records, placing notes, checking in and out items and resolving a claimed returned on an item.

Locate is how our users will search our catalog of physical materials and electronic theses and dissertations (in addition to CSU ePress).
